VR and AR has become a major priority for Facebook. The latest unveiling was Oculus Quest: Facebook’s newest VR headset.

This is the result of Santa Cruz project, which is going on sale in EEUU from spring 2019 by 399$.  

The new device count with an inside-out absolute positioning of 6DoF and a 360 field of vision thanks to 4 wide angle cameras integrate in.

It doesn’t have cables and is standalone or totally independence, as it counts with battery and internal memory what means that it doesn’t require of a potent pc or smartphone to work.

Oculus Quest has 2 hours of autonomy, the same as Oculus Go.

Regarding to the screens, they are also the same as Go, therefore all of their accessories will be compatible with Quest.

With a resolution of 1600x1440px for each eye, they offer a high definition resolution and eliminate the possible chromatic aberration.

The speed of refreshing of this screens is on 72Hz, something more than Go (what offered 60Hz), but less than other high class devices as Rift or Vive, capable to reach up to 90 Hz.

Oculus Quest is expected to be commercially with 50 titles, including Vader Immortal (Star wars), Robo Recall, The Climb and Moss.  

About the sound, it is integrated, as previous versions.

So finally we can conclude as pros that Oculus Quest is a totally portable device and compatible with every Rift content, but we’ll have to wait to try them in Europe.
